MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 16, 2022
Meeting called to order: 12:05 pm at Buccilli’s
Pledge and Prayer led by Heather Marra
Attendance: Rhonda Fossitt , Susan Tyer, Wendy Durocher, Rita VanScyoc, Heather Marra, Diane Nielsen, Jim VanSice, Gary Gandolfi
Food, social time, 50/50
Introduction of Guests: Ben Lowe, Roscommon County Sheriff’s Department
Birthdays: Bob Pacella 11/25 and Susan Tyer 11/30
Minutes: November 9, 2022, Minutes were approved. Jim VanSice made a motion and Diane Nielsen seconded. Motion was carried.
Speakers:
Speaker: Ben Lowe
Spoke on the Sheriff’s Department project of handing out “Turkeys instead of Tickets” at traffic stops. The club supports this project and Ben was awarded a $1000 check.
Ben spoke on other Sheriff’s Department projects; Blankets & Cards for Long term care patients, Christmas baskets for 25 adapted Seniors; Victim Services, Shop with a Hero and Salvation Army Ringing
Club Business:
Houghton Lake Rotary Auction Committee
- Procurement Form has been updated with basic info and can be use
- Rita plans to do further updates recommended by Wendy Durocher
- December 13, 2022, Tuesday, 6:00 pm @ Backdoor Salon. Auction Committee will meet.
Rotary members signed Thanksgiving cards and gave to Ben Lowe to provide to Nursing home residents
Holiday Party, Nov 30, Back Door Salon @ 6:00 pm
Graham and Grover Memorial Thanksgiving Dinner. The dinner will be on Thanksgiving Day at the HL Elks Club. Last year 500 meals were served. Jay Jacobs is looking for volunteers to deliver meals (Heather Marra has volunteered), and set-up the day before at 10:00 am (Susan Tyer has volunteered).
Giving Tuesday- This HL Rotary meeting, members donated
Reminder: HL Rotary will donate $2000 if member donations
exceed $1000.

$1 for Thanksgiving
50/50:
Susan Tyer won; ½ to her ($10) and ½ to Club.
