Minutes: November 2, 2022, Minutes were approved. Rita VanScyoc made a motion and Wendy Durocher seconded. Motion was carried.

 

Jane Helmer from the Kiwanis Club. Jane presented the club with a
$6400 check from the Camel Races. Jane spoke to the club about the Camel Races and the many successes.

Speaker: Ed Piglowski from “Christmas for Kids” and “Make-A-Wish”
Ed received a $1500 check from Rotary for “Christmas for Kids”. Ed gave an overview of the “Christmas for Kids” program. It is in its 32 nd year. 350 coats were handed out last year from the fundraising. The Auction fundraiser is on Nov 19th at the Northern Michigan Event Center. Doors open at 6 pm. Ed also participates in Make-A-Wish as a wish granter and they are in need of more Wish Granters, you can find more information here: https://wish.org/volunteer 

Speaker: Jay Jacobs- “Graham and Grover Memorial Thanksgiving Dinner”

Jay received a check for $500 for the Thanksgiving Dinner from the Rotary. Jay said the dinner will be on Thanksgiving Day at the HL Elks Club. Last year 500 meals were served. He is looking for volunteers to deliver meals, and set-up the day before.

Update Chamber of Commerce Dinner- November 2, 2022
Heather, Rhonda F, Jim VanSice, Susan Tyer attended
Heather read the winners of the various awards.
HL Rotary was nominated for “Best Organization”. Roscommon
County Animal Shelter won in this category.

 

Update from November 5 th Food Drive with Interact Students

Many Interact Students participated
Heather, Rhonda L, Wendy, and Rita participated from Rotary.

Update from Interacts 60th Anniversary 

Nov 5 at HL High School
Successful event with most Interact student participating
Heather made a presentation about HL Rotary and support for
the anniversary. Rhonda Lamberg as the advisor and Ben Elliott also participated.

 

Giving Tuesday- HL Rotary meeting on Nov 16 (next meeting)

Reminder: HL Rotary will donate $2000 if the donations go
over $1000 in total.
