Trooper Koboldt spoke to the club about the Shop with a Hero program. This is the 20th year of the program where Police, DNR, National Guard help children in the community shop for the holidays. The Police escort a bus with the kids inside
from the police post to Walmart. At Walmart they will receive a $100* gift card and a be assigned a Hero to help them purchase gifts. Rotarians, Interact club and others help the kids wrap the presents. Heather presented $800 check to Brian in
support of the program.
Discussion took place with Trooper Koboldt on how to increase the gift cards to $125* with submission of another grant request to the Houghton Lake Rotary and Roscommon Rotary.
