Rebecca Yunker, Executive Director of the Northern Michigan Children's Assessment Center recently spoke to the Rotary Club of Houghton Lake regarding the growth and impact of the NMCAC over the last 5 years. Rebecca started the NMCAC after moving to Roscommon county and finding that there was a lack of assistance to victims of child abuse and neglect. The center has grown from part-time staff providing limited services to a fully staffed center providing victim advocacy, medical examination, forensic interviewing, and therapy to child victims of abuse and neglect across Crawford, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Roscommon, and Iosco counties. Rotary President Matt Nester presented Rebecca a grant of $1,500.00 in support of the NMCAC.
