Becky Yunker from the Northern Michigan Childern's Assestment Center (NMCAC) gave a wonderful presentation about her organization at our last club assembly. Many of us are so moved by the work her and the team at the NMCAC does to provide a safe space for our community's most vulnerable childern. The NMCAC provides victim advocacy, therapy, forensic interviewing, and medical examination for childern who are abused.
They are the super heroes of our community and without their center these childern would of otherwise have to be taken directly to a police station and then emergency room right after experiencing a trauma. This can be very scary to childern and having a center (the NMCAC) they can go to a safe and comfortable space with people who are trained to help them heal from a horrific experience. The NMCAC is best chance we can give these kids.
Our club was so proud to present Becky with a donation of $1,500 to the NMCAC. Becky was very moved and gracious for our donation, especially because they are in desperate need of funding this year.
