Rotary March Board Meeting Agenda 3/15/23
 
Meeting Called to Order by Heather Marra at 11:00 a.m.
 
Attendance: 
Rita VanScyoc, Susan Tyer, Rhonda Fossitt, Heather Marra, Diane Nielsen, Anita Sheppard (zoom), Gary Gandolfi (zoom)
 
Approval of January Board Meeting Minutes
February Board Meeting Minutes were approved by club with Diane Nielsen and Susan Tyer making the motions.
 
PETS Conference
Heather Marra and Rhonda Fossitt attended this conference.

Key Items:
The Rotary Foundation
The PETS conference presented key information on the Foundation which gave an appreciation of the larger organization and international scope.
 
 The Paul Harris Fellow Award
o PETS shared information about encouraging club members to work toward Paul Harris award and how to check points that have been earned by Rotarians.
o Heather shared a report which showed that a few of the club members may qualify for Paul Harris Award.
o Susan suggested we meet with Jackie from Roscommon Rotary Club to better understand the report.
 
Membership
o The PETS conference stressed the importance of membership. This is an area that our club will look to emphasize.
o Our club needs to do an assessment/ membership survey and will look to do this in future.
 
Financial Update- Heather Marra
 Grant spending update: $10,000 left in grant budget before the grants reviewed at this meeting.
 After board discussion, it was decided we would not increase the grant budget. The Board tabled this for later discussion when funds are closer to depletion.
  
Club Directors for 2023-2024 Rotary Year
President-Elect: Rhonda Fossitt
President Nominee: To Be Filled
Secretary: Diane Nielsen volunteered to take on the Secretary position

Board Members: Seeking one more Board Member
 
Local Grants
 Roscommon Commission on Aging requested a $5000 grant (1) $2500 for food pantry shelving (2). $2500 for chore related activities . After discussing the grant requests, the board determined that more information was needed. Heather sent an email to Mary Fry requesting further details.
