Miss Houghton Lake Q&A with Contestants
There are 6 contestants this year for Miss Houghton Lake. The club asked the contestants what their talent was for the show and what their dress looked like for the poise section of the judging. The club also asked what college they would be attending after High School and what their major would be. The show will be February 4th at 6pm at Houghton Lake High School and tickets can be purchased at the High School. The contestants were asked a series of questions to help prepare them for a part of the competition. Heather asked 1 question for each of them:
1. Should Students and Teachers be friends on Facebook?
2. Talk about a time you had to deal with negative peer pressure and how you overcame it.
3. How are you a model for your underclassmen?
4. If you could be any celebrity today who would you be?
5. What are the qualities of a leader?
6. Do you think all clicks are negative?
They were then all asked "How do you impact your school?"

Speaker- Tip Up Town, Jay Jacobs
TUT will Happen! Kick off was last Saturday where they presented the Mayor and chose the Queen. The judges wanted to make all 3 participants the queen this year but they would only choose one. The Winner received $1,000 to her charity of choice which was the Roscommon County Food Pantry. The other 2 received $250 to their charities. There will be no ice slide this year but there will be live music and more activities. The parade is a go and there will be a beverage tent. If you want to volunteer please contact Jay Jacobs.
