They are trying to get the word out about what they are doing at the village and playhouse.
Jason is on the board and their son is on the board to it has been a family effort.
Their goal is to restore the village and playhouse, a lot of the board were elderly, and it was difficult to keep it up. The community has helped a lot with donating their time and flowers to the village.
They just had the village days and they are gearing up for the 50th anniversary for next year, so they want to go all out and bring back some of the old traditions. This years village days went really well and they had about 400 people. They got great feed back from around the community. They added two events last year during Covid one of them is the Spook Village for Halloween and then they did a Christmas Walk, which they did in tandem with Santa’s Work Shop. Most of the events are suggested $5 donation. Their goal is to bring more things to the community, they’ve been doing movies in the village. They’re going to work with MSU and are interested in the nature trail, the DNR and Boy Scouts built all of the walkways and bridges in the early 90s. They want to do a youth gypsy moth program in the spring.
They are also talking with 4-H to get them involved and see if they could do a community garden and maybe they’ll bring in a few animals. The goal for the nature trails is they want them to be educational with signs talking about the different animal, trees and plants.
They are always looking for volunteers! Looking for people to “Adopt a Building” to help restore them. Rhonda has been the president for only 1 year and has accomplished so much! They vote again in November for the president. Looking for new candidates to run for positions, need a new Treasurer and Director Seats.
Contact Rhonda,989-443-1130 if you are interested, monthly board meetings first Tuesday of the month at 7pm and the 3rd Tuesday is the general meeting. The general meeting is open to the public.  If the weather is nice they leave under the pavilion and in the colder weather they have the meetings in the playhouse.
My haunted Diary, youtube presenter is going to show the series for the October meeting.
Call out on Facebook for help. Working with the Resorter to have local artist to make their own design for a badge and have the public vote for their favorite badge for the next Village Days.
