Board Meeting Update

Financial Update- Ben Elliott
Ben contacted our accountant, Dan Decker, CPA, who advised it is not necessary to get
a financial audit. An audit would be around $4000. With the size of the club and shared
responsibility, Dan thought it would be overkill.
There is no concern with dues.

Grants Approved
  • Roscommon County Literary Council applied for $1000. This is to include Dolly Parton reading club, tutoring adults, and book sale. 500 kids under 5 years old in Roscommon County receive the Dolly Parton books on a regular basis.
  • Roscommon County Food Pantry applied for $1200. This is for the Food Truck on August 12

Kathy Grover Memorial Scholarship
The Board approved $250 to be donated to the Roscommon Foundation Scholarship fund in memory of Kathy Grover.

Club Directors for 2023-2024 Rotary Year
We had two board directors’ positions open for 2023-2024. Scott Bates has agreed to fill one of the openings. Therefore, we have one opening left. If anyone is interested in
this position, let Heather know.

Citizen of the Year
Discussion took place at the board meeting on whether the club wanted to sponsor a Citizen of the Year. This had been done several years ago. It was determined by the board that this is something the club does not want to do at this time.

We have approved for the Public Image Grant for $600. The Board decided that we would spend it in the following way: (1) $100 for advertising for the Golf Outing (2) $100 for advertising for the Auction. (3). $400 for Zoom subscription
